We met in 2002 while we were both working at BookPeople in Austin, Texas. We got married on June 18, 2005 and now live in a small house in North Austin with our two dogs, Coltrane and Miles, and our three cats - Gnosis, Nona, and Kali. Brian works as an Editorial Assistant at the University of Texas Press and Elizabeth still works at BookPeople as a buyer and the Inventory Operations Manager.

On April 12, 2009 we welcome our first child, Oliver Mott, into our family and on February 12, 2013, his little brother, Henry Charles, joined us three weeks before his expected due date.

Swimming!


My mom bought Oliver an inflatable pool last week that is big enough for Brian and I to get in. It was the perfect week for it since it was about 105 degrees every day last week and we were desperate for any way to cool off. Oliver loves the water and had fun hanging out in the pool with Mom and Dad. Brian and I loved getting to chill out in the pool after those long hot days.

And, the best part about our swims? This is what he looks like about five minutes after getting out of the water:



After our swim this evening, he went down for a nap at 5:00 and slept until 7:45 (letting Mom and Dad eat a full hot meal without bouncing a baby on our laps). Thanks for the pool, Mom! We’re going to get a lot of use out of it this summer.
